Nigeria is set to become the biggest aesthetic care center in Africa - Alausa

Dr. Tunji Alausa, Nigeria's Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, has announced the federal government's commitment to establishing Nigeria as the leading center for cosmetic care in Africa. This pledge was made during the launch of Afrimed, a subsidiary of Afrimedical Manufacturing and Supplies Limited, known for constructing one of Africa's largest syringe manufacturing facilities in Nigeria. Afrimedical Manufacturing and Supplies Limited is part of Mikano International Limited.

The state-of-the-art factory is located in Ogun State and operates fully automated machinery.

Dr. Alausa praised Afrimed for its innovative contributions to the cosmetic sector in Nigeria, stating, "Our government is dedicated to creating an enabling environment and implementing better regulations to ensure our citizens receive safe aesthetic care. By doing so, we will build trust and attract more people, thereby expanding our ecosystem to become the largest aesthetic care center in Africa. This is our goal, and we will work to enhance and regulate this sector to foster trust. I commend Afrimed for leading the way."

He continued, "Aesthetic care is closely linked to our overall health and quality of life. From skin treatments to reconstructive surgery, aesthetic solutions are vital for a comprehensive healthcare system. These solutions not only help individuals restore their physical appearance but also rebuild their confidence and contribute to their well-being, leading to holistic recovery."
